ELPIDA HOUSE is a private, non-profit organization in Marin, California, founded in 1993 to provide quality affordable housing and professional support services to adults who have a psychiatric disability.

We offer a continuum of housing and support services designed to help persons with mental illnesses develop more self-sufficiency. We deliver our services in a group home setting. Currently, Elpida House operates four homes, all of which are located in San Rafael, 20 minutes north of San Francisco.

Our mission is to assist clients in developing the tools to live successfully within the community, despite having an illness that is serious and persistent. Elpida, the Greek word for hope, is what we aspire to instill, knowing that persons with mental illness can become fully-functioning members of the community.
